Thank you for your words. I have a whole new appreciation for what nurses go through. It is alot of selfless work. I know that the few times in my life when I was in the hospital, it has been a nurse that made all the difference for me. Thank you.

Sounds like you did and said exactly the right things. God bless you, dear, and thank God you chose Nursing. My only child is also a nurse and I have learned from her many stories that it is truly an amazing profession, sometimes thankless, but so rewarding. It's "moments" like this that seem to make it all worthwhile. Not everyone has what it takes to be a good nurse. I believe you do, and I wish you a joyful life and a wonderful lifelong career.

hi, i work at a hospital in the admitting department. i just wanted to say that you sound like an awesome person and great nurse. i think our hospital could use you around for some positive influence. I also have panic attacks and feel stupid coming in to the ER, when i though i was dieing, not having a panic attack. It would have been nice to have you for a nurse. keep up the good work

Welcome to the wonderful world of emergency nursing! As you said, it can be crazy, hectic, stressful, you can feel like you are SO lost and have no clue. And then one day, the light goes on and you've got it. You get to see everything from birth to death and everything in between.....some of the best and worst of society. There is NO place like the ED and it's wonderful! But you have to have the personality for it!
Good luck and let me know if you have any questions! Stop by my site if you want and poke around a bit. You might find some information that could prove helpful.

Good writing, great insight, interesting blog so far. Keep it up. I have a blog where I touch on the other point of view - the chronic pain patient. Although my views clash with many of the ER physicians and nurses that blog on hte net, I believe at one point we all started out wanting the same thing. To help, to save, to give our best. Your patient had my heart and your writing brought it there. Great job.
